Minor lacerations seldom cause excessive bleeding and the pressure of a bandage on the wound will usually stop the flow of blood. However, if there is a lot of bleeding or it does not slow, you should make a trip to the clinic. If the wound is on the face or in an area that is very cosmetic, seeing a doctor may be able to assist that it heals appropriately without causing significant scarring.
Our staff at Riverbend is available on a walk-in basis and can advise you of the severity of the cut and whether or not the wound needs stitches or not.
